Nursing Program.
Strategic Nurse Staffing
is a healthcare staffing company specializing in placing American,
Canadian and other foreign trained nurses on assignments throughout
the country.
Nurses trained and educated outside
of the United States or Canada must obtain a work visa in order
to work legally in the United States.
There are two types of visas: temporary (usually offered
in increments of one to three years) and permanent (Green Card or
permanent resident). Presently, temporary visas are not available
to most foreign trained nurses so Strategic Nurse Staffing only
sponsors international applicants through permanent status.
Understanding Categories
H-1C and 1B
Although, there is one temporary visa category, H-1C that is afforded
to nurses, it is too restrictive for practical use. In addition,
many people mistakenly believe that another temporary visa, H-1B
is available to registered nurses, however, less than 1% of nurses
would be eligible for this visa, so again it is not a viable method
for entry into the U.S.
Consular Processing
Typically, we sponsor nurses for Green Cards through a process known
as consular processing. Consular processing will take approximately
10 to 18 months to complete and until your sponsorship is complete
you must remain outside of the U.S. and are not eligible to work
here. In exchange for sponsorship, Strategic
Nurse Staffing will require an employment commitment of no less
than 24 months.
Canadian Nurses
Strategic
Nurse Staffing also specializes in the recruitment & placement
of Canadian Registered Nurses. We specialize in placing Canadian
RNs on assignments at acute and sub-acute care facilities throughout
the United States.
Nursing in the United States
offers a variety of unique opportunities to live and work in new
places, while expanding your professional experience. Whether
taking a brief leave of absence from your current position, or if
you plan to remain in the United States indefinitely, our knowledgeable
and caring staff will make your move painless and stress-free, guiding
you every step of the way. Strategic Nurse Staffing’s experienced
licensing, immigration and housing specialists coordinate all pre-employment
arrangements and advise you on all aspects of relocation to the
United States.
Canadian RNs admitted under the North American Free
Trade Act (NAFTA) need a TN nonimmigrant (temporary) work authorization
to work in the U.S. In order to qualify for a TN, the applicant must
present a job offer from a U.S. employer, a VisaScreen Certificate, their
nursing diploma and a Canadian passport and/or birth certificate to a
U.S. immigration officer at a U.S. Port of Entry (border or international
airport). Eligible dependents are granted TD status and may enter for
the duration of authorized stay of the worker. TN work authorization
is granted in maximum increments of one year and may be renewed by returning
to a Port of Entry or by petitioning for an extension by mail at least
a couple of months prior to the expiration date of the period of authorized
stay.
Strategic Nurse Staffing will cover and/or reimburse
for ALL costs and expenses related to obtaining a TN visa!
